- STOVETOP: Rinse rice once. Combine 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water, a teaspoon of olive oil, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat for a minute, then reduce heat to low. Cover tightly and simmer for 25 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for 5 minutes. Fluff and serve.
